This is so very different from my usual style. Hopefully I did justice to the prompt!
CircumventThunder booms, murky black clouds spool across the sky, devour what dim light penetrates the atmosphere. Glance upward, sigh with the reprieve; it’s not the sulfuric haze that rains down acid from the skies

I'm not sure what it was about this, but it reminded me of a video game! I loved Dean being all nimble, and all butch with the leaping and grasping of the vine. And yay, happy ending!

Thank you!
I was trying to get into Dean's head as he acted out the plan he had made; random snippets filtering in between the steps he knew he had to take to get to safety. I wasn't thinking video game when I wrote it, but it's fitting now that I've re-read it! I may have to borrow that.
By the time Sam gets Dean and Cas out of Purgatory (at some indeterminate future point) they're ragged, shredded, and quite, quite mad. Sam has a hard time getting through to his brother.
I like the idea of Dean and Cas sharing some weird connection through shared insanity. For the first time in his whole life, Sam would have to actively compete for his brother's attention. Aaaagnst.
Oh cool. That somehow puts Dean back firmly in the centre of attention. Like, if he's 100% Sam's priority as he struggles to look after both of them... I felt a little bit of jealousy initially at that prompt but now it just sounds awwwesome. ♥
