Where the hell did January go?

So I've finally succumbed.  I once naively thought that I might be able to go through life without accepting this... blight into life and wallet.  But it seems that there is no helping it.

I got my self a credit card.  I feel so dirty now.

Yeah, credit cards are nasty things. Well, really, the only bad thing about them is the temptation to spend more money than you have, saying "I'll just pay it off with my next paycheck!" If you use them smart, they can actually pay you. Just never never spend more money than you have, and you won't end up in debt like me! :)

Exactly! Do as Tobyn says, not as he does. :)

I use mine to buy things on the net, or occasionally when I'm not sure how my checking account is looking but I KNOW I have it in savings and can transfer immediately when I get home. I also put the tuition checks on it and then immediately paid it off, to help develop history - you might consider that with student loans.

I plan to limit myself to purchases from the net, where most of the temptation lies, and going out to diner or lunch at a restaurant. Which is one of those things I occasionally forget I can do now that I have a steady source of income. On a related note, I really need to stop buying breakfast at Wagners. It's going to do bad things to my waistline. But, dear god in heaven can they make a good danish.
