I'm in almost 100% agreement with your assessment of the film (I say "almost" because I couldn't stand Bono, but that's irrelevant). If it just stuck to the surreal scenes, it could have been a really great movie. But nooooo, it had to be a musical ripoff of a terrible NBC miniseries.

It makes you wonder what Julie Taymor's way longer version was like...
