I'm in love with Pope county, Illinois, population 4,211, deep in the heart of Shawnee National Forest. Last weekend was nothing if not weird. noah, i'm always jealous of your exploits, but you're gonna be so jealous when you see the MOVIE i'm making. i'm gonna have to send you a dvd. it's set entirely on the El and in gary indiana. and there's this cool singer/songwriter that i saw open for tegan and sara and i emailed her about using her music on the soundtrack and she's sending me a whole bunch of stuff for it! we'll have it finished and edited by the end of this quarter.

i saw masculine feminine at the music box last week. have you seen it? i'm thinking godard is my secret lover.

do you have a title for un flic?

i'm getting back on the boat next year with a course in comparative french cinema from 1895 to 1950 because a good portion of the class is devoted to the origins of modern film criticism (and i love professora margaret flinn).

i love godard, but he is extraordinarily hit and miss. how can the same man make a film as gut-wrenching as my life to live and then come back with dreck like pierrot le fou?
