Any chance you can combine the two, do some part-time work at a gym and also work on establishing your own business? Or do gyms usually have employee clauses that prohibit such stuff?
I'm going to try to do something similar once I get all cousellated - do part-time as a private RCC, and part-time at an agency or not for profit.
I guess the question would be how long have you been doing what you've been doing and how confident are you in your abilities to sign up clients? I for one am not a risk taker so I'm more then happy to make less money because at least it's consistent.
In any customer service related industry where your business is reliant on a clientelle, it's a smart move to take the financial loss in the beginning in order to build your client base. Sign on with a gym for regular pay to build up your reputation for a while, and then sneakily guide your clients away from the gym to a private practice to maximize your profits in the long run.
I'm having a dilemma myself right now, as my own business is going nowhere and I have no idea how to market myself. Luckily, the hubberman has a good job and we'll be okay for a while as I get my life together.
Anything - anything - I can do to help, please let me know.
