Day 7 - Favourite game couple

I'll always have a huge fondness for Cloud and Aerith from Final Fantasy VII. My interest in the fandom has diminished a lot, and I no longer keep up with all their appearances in spinoff games and such, but I just loved their bond in the original game. I liked the fact that Aerith took charge, teased Cloud and wasn't afraid to share her feelings with him, and I loved Cloud's occasional slip ups that showed he cared for her, such as 'But I'm... we're here for you.' One of my favourite ever scenes in FFVII is the whole Wall Market section with Cloud and Aerith running around collecting items because Aerith convinced him that dressing up as a woman was the easiest way to sneak into Don Corneo's mansion. So much fun. During my playthrough of FFVII: Crisis Core, I found Zack and Aerith's relationship completely and utterly and ridiculously adorable, but if I have to choose my very favourite, Cloud and Aerith just wins out.

Day 8 - Best soundtrack

Well, Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy X's soundtracks are both absolutely wonderful, but I'm going to be contrary and pick the Persona 3 OST, because there are so many ridiculously catchy songs on it. Want To Be Close, When The Moon's Reaching Out Stars, and Wiping All Out (from P3P) are my favourites of the vocal themes, and I defy anyone to not wind up humming Mass Destruction while battling through Tartarus. Then there's the awesome boss battle theme, Master of Shadow, and the even awesomer final boss theme The Battle for Everyone's Souls. And then there's Memories of the School, anyone who's completed the game will know why that theme's particularly memorable.

Day 9 - Saddest game scene

I could easily and predictably say Aerith's death scene in Final Fantasy VII, but mentioning 'Memories of the School' reminds me of how serene and sad the ending of Persona 3 was. It was bittersweet in that all the members of SEES regained their memories of the past year they'd spent together and all reunited on graduation day like they'd promised, but the main character, who'd managed to hold on up until that point in order to keep the promise, fell asleep in Aigis's arms just as the others reached the rooftop. The original game leaves it at that, (unless you seek out the translation of the song 'Memories of You', which plays over the ending credits) but if you play FES, The Answer makes it apparent that he never woke up. It's particularly poignant, considering that just before the main character fell asleep, Aigis told him that she wanted to keep on living in order to continue to protect him.

Day 10 - Best gameplay

Devil May Cry 4's gameplay is my favourite. I liked how it was changed up so red orbs could be used to buy items and Proud Souls were for buying and upgrading moves, which meant I didn't have to spend as long messing around collecting red orbs. Being able to change styles at any point instead of having to switch at the start of the level or at a divinity statue was a welcome change too, and Dante's crazy combos were as over the top fun as ever. I liked Nero's Devil Bringer too, it was great using it to lay the smackdown on bosses. Especially on Echinda.

Day 11 - Gaming system of choice

At the moment it's the good old PS2, purely because most of my favourite games are PS2 games. Persona 3 & 4, Resident Evil 4, Tekken 5, Devil May Cry 3, Final Fantasy X, Project Zero, the list goes on. Plus it's backwards compatible, so I don't have to buy the all the classic PS1 games I loved from the PSN in order to play them again.

Day 7 - A song that reminds you of a certain event

Again, DJ Sammy's version of Boys of Summer.

Day 8 - A song that you know all the words to

There are countless songs I know all the words to, so I'll just pick the most recent song I sang, which was With Every Heartbeat by Robyn. The dancey single version is good, but I prefer the acoustic one, the emotion really comes across. Her acoustic version of Be Mine is lovely as well. I had half a mind to choose it instead of No Distance Left To Run for day 4.

Day 9 - A song that you can dance to

Whenever I hear DJ Got Us Falling In Love by Usher, I always want to do some shots and get on the dancefloor. Britney Spears's Gimme More springs to mind too, or more recently Til The World Ends. Say what you want about Britney, but her new songs are still as insanely danceable as ever.

Day 10 - A song that makes you fall asleep

I dunno, I find it hard to sleep when there's music with lyrics playing. I guess late night jazz instrumentals like Blue in Green by Miles Davis, since my dad used to always play Kind of Blue when I was a kid and I'd be able to hear it from my room while I was falling to sleep.

Day 11 - A song from your favorite band

Here's my favourite of Placebo's bonus tracks, In a Funk, from Battle for the Sun. According to some, BFTS was a big disappointment as a Placebo album, but according to me, it is awesome and there is not one single song I skip.
