Costume design. Sweet.

I saw you friended me. I'm guessing it's because you're the only other person who has "Torture the Artist" listed as a fave. You're talking about the book, right? Have you read Goebel's other work, "The Anomalies"? Goebel is way cool. I've met him thrice. ;)

Yes you would be right, that and the fact that in one of your posts you were listening to My Chemical Romance. I thought it was too weird so I just had to add you. No I haven't read "The Anomalies" yet but I do intend to. I actually got "Torture the Artist" from my friend (his lj name is facepuller) who got it I guess from the publishing company he works for. How did you meet him?

Book fairs. SOKY bookfest and the Western Kentucky Book Expo to be exact. And you can e-mail him at his website (www.joeygoebel.com) and he'll actually reply, too. Goebel's incredibly nice, he reminds me of an actor whose name I can never remember. And when I say he's cool, I mean it. He like, embodies cool by not trying to be so.

That's cool. You have a friend associated with MacAdam Cage. They're an AWESOME publisher. The Anomalies is lovely. Perhaps even more derogatory to society. I have problems comparing it to Torture the Artist, becaue they're so alike, and yet still seem worlds apart. Goebel's style really matured, even though it stayed the same. I guess Torture is a bit more subversive.

That's very good to know. That's also really awesome, I'm glad he's not one of those stuffy pretentious authors. I think part of what appealed to me, however, is that he doesn't seem like he is in his writing. I truly need to get my hands on "The Anomalies."

What else have you read from MacAdam Cage?

Wow! Good luck with that. I have never really thought of pursuing any of my arts on a professional level. I don't know why.... maybe because I am selfish, in a way. Everything I do, photography, artwork, designs, I do for me and I just can't see myself wanting to do these things for anyone else.
Meh... I guess I am a weirdo when it comes to things such as this...

Well, no, you aren't a weirdo at all. Originally I began doing this stuff for myself and then one day I realized that people liked my stuff enough to pay for it. So I realized that just by doing stuff for me I could make a little money. Maybe one day I'll be able to make enough to take my ideas even further you know?
