(November 14th entry written in the hotel)
Good morning Japan! It's 5am here in Narita and 4pm in Halifax. In an hour or two we'll be eating some yummy food downstairs at the western/japanese stylle buffet breakfast downstairs. I can hear my tummy rumbling haha.
So to fill y'all in...
After we landed in Narita airport we made our way through customs (pretty fast when your Dad's a pilot hehe) and hopped on the Pilot's bus to the Hilton hotel. The Japanese are very efficient and polite. The bus driver left at EXACTLY quarter after (noticed the same thing for the remainder of the trip. They're always on time). After dad had a shower and us girlies changed out of our plane clothes we got back on the bus with crazy George, Doug and his wife and the the captain Dave. We all went through Narita and got off the bus downtown. Narita doesn't have a very big downtown because It's kind of like a suburban area that caters to crews and people staying the night and then jetting off the next day. There's lots of restraunts and things but not really a big place. George brought us to a really good place that crew's usually call the Noddle House or the Student Noodle. The food was amzing and it was really cool. The restraunt was about the size of my kitchen and you sat whereever there was room and with whoever. Jenna, Dad and I sat at a table with a european couple and of course Dad chatted it up with them.
Alrighty...about the food. Dad had a super spicy red chili pepper soup (ENORMOUS bowl filled with noodles and soup), jenna had ginger pork and I had fried rice. It was sooo good. They made it specially for me without meat and lots of veggies and egg. Yum. Eventually we got to sit with our little group and I really enjoyed eating the Japanese food, chatting with people and soaking in all the decorations and atmosphere.
After dinner we all went to an English Medival style bar called the "Barge Inn". It was super nice and very western. Geroge showed us a little dance floor and stage where people come to dance and listen to music on the weekends. It would be cool if someday I could bring my friends to Japan and we could go party all over then place. haha.
Before we go on the bus again we checked out a little karokoe bar called the "Cage". Apparently the Japanese love to sing karoke...especiialy after drinking!! :D
It's almost 6:00 so I better get ready for the day!
