Sounds like good fun. With that Japanese thing, make sure you have some nights going out alone. Evesdropping can be fun. It's very funny when they think you don't know they're talking about you. I've heard that Gifu is an interesting city, but not much in the way of night life. You'll have to keep up on the adventures. 頑張って！
Yeah... I've been warned of the Nova Bubble and I'm doing my best to go out on my own and try to meet Japanese people/eavesdrop on their conversations. Of course, it's hard to do when people won't come anywhere near you for fear of Gaijin Cooties or something. LOL, oh Japan...
