Personally, I think one can do marriage and ambition--though admittedly I'm pretty well sat here in Glasgow, I think the limitation is more based on financial implications than anything else. And yeah, you then have another person to think of, but that can be true in many other scenarios...

I hope your meeting goes well. I've been thinking about going back for a research Master's or a PhD myself, in the long-term, but am also concerned regarding grades and funding.

There are two unis in brighton, plus most London unis and Chichester (which has some kind of pg comics thing) are easily commutable. It's fucking expensive though.
