Earlier I heard David Jeremiah talk on Solomon's observation that "the day of death is better than the day of one's birth" (Ecc 7:1). The meaning is not that being in heaven is better than being on earth, but that at the end of life, one will be remembering back and seeing a good life 's results which is better than the uncertainty of life from ( Read more... )

Is it okay that I posted this, Mom? You had a note written to yourself to put this in your journal, and I know that sometimes you put off doing things related to the computer.... :-D

Anyway, wow, that's really something to think about. The verse makes a lot more sense the way you (and Dr. Jeremiah) explained it. I'd wondered before what such a morbid phrase could mean. Interesting.
