Peer Pressure: social pressure by members of one's peer group to take a certain action, adopt certain values, or otherwise conform in order to be accepted.
I totally know what you mean with the instant feeling of knowing someone for a long time - I never would have guessed that I'd have such a great connection with EVERYONE from Leaky!
I guess I need to start my LJ up again, too... BAH! you Leaks and your journals :0)
OK, seriously...Live Journal is just the whoop...and now you are amongst the "cool kids" who get to keep up with the intimate-most details for each other's lives. So, I know what you REALLY meant to do was THANK ME for setting your account up and setting you straight down the road to LJ infamy.
Quote from Ms. Addie: "by the end of the conference, I was crying with them because we had to say goodbye." [/quote] So I was GOING to mock you for this, but seeing as I know it is heart-felt (because I did the same thing), I will just say this. The chemistry between the people on Leaky's staff is the coolest and closest connection of friends that I've ever experienced. Our meet-ups turn into all-accepting, boundary-free, laughter-laden love-fests where you meet your "soul mates" face to face. I have never experienced the sort of automatic acceptance and open-arm policy that Leaky staffers seem to care around as their credo...and I count myself fortunate to be a part of the family.
