Some of you know I like to go on about why things are funny, analyzing sense of humor, etc. I finally have a go at doing that for school, in writing a review of Seinfeld. There's a few bits where Seinfeld actually discusses current events that the pop culture knows about...which is typical of a sitcom and exceedingly predictable.

Just saying...you don't have to be part of the in-group to understand some of the jokes...just read a few headlines.

(For example, Kramer's battle for the signed Yankees item...it's based on the Barry Bonds home run where the kid allegedly bit the guy to get the ball).

It's kind of a fiction-is-stranger-than-truth-is-stranger-than-fiction kind of humor.

You like the fiction-is-stranger-than-fiction kind of humor, where fiction just completely departs from anything that can hold itself out as being true.
