I was thinking about his performance in Omega Man when we saw I am Legend (both based on the same book). It had an interracial romance which was VERY radical for its time. Its too bad so many people looked at his NRA work and forgot about his ties to the civil rights movement.

He had an amazing life.

I would think also that more people should pay attention to the fact that those things are almost certainly related. If you care deeply about civil rights, you should be prepared to defend them, or so goes the libertarian demand for the right to bear arms.
