Happy birthday to my humble little LiveJournal, which turns 19 today. I have to imagine it's like a kid who's grown up and went away to college, and deeply resents me for years of seemingly indifferent oversight. When it comes back home, it might find we have a lot in common in that regard. Someday, LJ, we'll have this figured out.

No, for real, where is a good place for like-minded people to hang out anymore? Perhaps a meeting of the Congregation for Anti Flirts, Inc. or something. Do people just post long-winded stories and complaints full of misspellings and bad grammar to things like Facebook and Instagram instead these days while simultaneously uploading a thousand selfies and begging for compliments, or are there better places to find communities?

I have been successful in my mission of completely isolating myself from everything and miss the scores of comments I used to receive. Which basically means you and kimkat (and an occasional surprise guest!).

There aren’t any networks to make personal connections based on shared interests anymore.

I haven’t talked to anyone about 60s garage in years.
