Ever had conjunctivitis? You wake up and your eyes are literally glued shut. You stumble to the nearest source of water and rinse and rinse them and then pull the eyelids apart, losing a few eyelashes in the process. Then your eyes are sticky and icky and gross and red and inflamed for the next 5 days and you can't see too well. It's great.
