Ho hum

After 12 hours of much self-flagellation...I feel slightly better (not good, but less horrendously awful) about Cazi. (Coming to work may have been an error; I'm getting nothing done and am just sitting here leaking and trying not to let anyone see ( Read more... )

Oh sweatheart I know it is tough but it really is just one of those things. It's sad but nature can be like that.

We lost a little one in Junos last litter. He was playing quite happily one moment and then mid leap he just stopped. It is the only way to describe it he just died mid play. There was no sign of anything wrong and the vet said it was just something wasn't right with his organs, that he felt nothing and was a very happy little kitten right up and until after. It sounds as if it was the same with Cazi. Kittens sleep in piles, they do no suffocate that way, it sounds as though she just drifted to sleep and her heart stopped, peacefully and contentedly with no suffering. There was nothing you or anyone else could do about it. Just know she was happy, loved and looked after the entire time. many other kittens are not so lucky.

You are a great kitten mummy, aunty, furless minion and will help to raise many more happy little bundles to bring joy to those they choose to live with.

First off HUGS

Secondly, whilst i don't know that much about cats, i know with other animals they have several babies at once to ensure at least one survives. It's part of nature and there was nothing you could have done.

It sounds like she went peacefully, which is a good thing. So try not to beat yourself up about it.

And thirdly, have some more HUGS

*I don't that know much about cats* - Trust me on this, she really doesn't. This is the woman who called me while I was away and she was feeding my cats to tell me that they had swallowed something and were making funny noises. Turned out that they were purring. (You can't blame all of it on the ex, D :o) xxx)

Jean is totally right, though. It does suck but it does happen and it won't be the only time. Don't let it put you off breeding, you really a fantastic non-furry mum. You care about your babies and that is what is important.
