"To transfer music from an iPod to a Mac, you can copy it using the command-line, if you are familiar with using Terminal, or I guess there are probably utilities that can copy music back from an iPod to iTunes. I don't think iTunes supports this directly.
On the other hand, iTunes 9 has a new feature called 'Home Sharing' which would let you copy the music directly between your PC and your Mac.
