It'd be easier to be an appliance. I could be upgraded. I already get thrown out when I'm old, is it asking that much more for upgrades? The ability to change out parts? I'd like to be mostly what I'm not. I wonder if I can brainwash myself? Hmm ( Read more... )

The problem with my making new friends is my age and the place I am as a person. Most people my age have so many issues that I haven't experienced. Wives, ex-wives, drugs, booze, etc. I don't relate to that crowd. Everyone my age takes life far too serious and can't seem to loosen up and enjoy things. Growing up, I always got along with older people. Now at 31, I get along better with younger people.

50 acquaintances can't hold a candle to one true friend.

Don't change yourself or who you are. You're only cheating yourself.

I don't think I want to change myself. I just want to act more in line with my personality. All my experience is of an introverted, submissive nature, but I'm realizing that's not exactly who I am. I just don't know how to act differently. Dratted nature vs. nuture crap.

I don't think of you as a submissive person. i think you are outgoing when you want/need to be and quiet and contemplative when you feel that is the way to be. I think it's more being comfortable with who you are more than it is changing how you act.
