This same goddamn thing happened to me. I bought a $40 Christmas present at Neiman Marcus and had to take out a Neiman Marcus credit card because they don't take Visa and apparently it's 1975. Somehow when I paid my bill the next week I managed to leave a $3 balance on the card, thinking I had paid in full. I then proceeded to throw away the next six month's worth of statements unopened, only to get a call in July whereupon they informed me that I owed them $157. Fortunately I was able to talk them down to $25, but that's still 50% on top of the original purchase price, and that didn't do much to fix my credit rating.

That sucks, did you get a credit report?

FYI, they refunded that last $6, so now Macy's owes ME $6 and keeps sending me statements saying so. I'm still a little wary of opening them.
