dfa breaking up...you didn't miss a damn thing live! you can't pull off what they did in studio live. it sucked.

well thats some consolation i guess. i've been listening to 'You're A Woman, I'm A Machine" quite a bit lately and just assumed they could pull the same stuff off live.

good stuff, man. did you happen to see this on boing-boing? as a fan of vector gfx, i thought you'd dig it...

whoa. that shits crazy. its so realistic. but then you get into the whole question of why? i'm sure it took forever to re-create the photo, why not just use the photo?

i think it would be cool to see someone pull off that ultra-realistic vector style but create something new and unique with it. you can only do so much with a literal re-creation of something.

yeah, that's kinda what i thought. it actually reminded me of an illustration class i took in college... my prof wanted us to project/trace photos for our projects. i figured, why not just use the photo, itself?

i'd also like to see someone do some crazy stuff that was more than just a copy of a photo with that intense level of realism...

and i need to learn how to really use that web gradient tool thingy in illustrator ;)

Wow, yeah that's insane! But you know, with practice most people learn shortcuts for developing work like that and you know what vectoring means... scalable images with no file bloat! I'm all for it man! And I also really like your illustration. It's fun! Have you been adding anything new to your website recently? I've had absolutely no time to do anything outside of work lately.

That is a beautiful photo. I haven't been to Colorado yet but I want to check it out. I absolutely loved the southwest desert, Arizona, New Mexico and the surrounding landscape when we drove through there. I'd go back at the drop of a pin if I had a schedule that gave me the free time.

(Also, just so you know, I've been archiving my old journal posts so anything I post will disappear within a week or two after it's been posted from now on. Just in case you're wondering if you've been locked out of anything, you haven't been).
