i've lived in LA for 7 years, one of those in long beach, and that was my first time! its one of things thats so close its always like "i'll get around to it eventually", and then i finally went to show an out-of-town guest. it was really nice. the only drawback was the marine layer. you couldn't see the mainland at all, but i would like to go back and get a cabin and hike around maybe.

when i lived in long beach, i was a poor student, so i couldn't spend money on luxury items like a trip to catalina. hahaha
and when i moved to downtown la, i was too lazy to!!

they were weird. they were like regular boats but with submarine bottoms. it was cool but we didn't really see a wide variety of fish. none of them were that "tropical" looking. supposedly it was the time of year or something.

oh wow matt!
these are way cool.
i love the colors,
and how the focus and unfocus works.
went to your flickr too.
dang those arches and balancing rocks and mountains are outrageous.
crazy to know that that place exists driving distance away.
this ones very cute too~* :)

yeah same here. i didn't really know how to use my camera but then i just sat at the bookstore for hours on end reading every 35mm book i could get my hands on. that, plus just shooting rolls and rolls of film until i figured it out somewhat. i love film though. i love the look and saturation of it, i just miss the convenience of digital when i'm using. like being able to see your picture immediately after you take it and not having to change rolls in the shade every 24 shots. my camera especially is a pain to change. it usually takes me a good 10 minutes and many tries until i get it.

there will be more artshow pics for sure! i have them, just haven't uploaded any yet.
