I'm not one to bitch about edmnex.us/infoline on my LIVEJOURNAL, but, I seriously need to do some venting. LJ is always a better place to vent than myspace or the boards themselves ( Read more... )

There is a message board where you can call people out by name and inform absolutely everyone how you feel about anyone and anything without any worries of moderation. electronicaz.com and azhardcorejunkies immediately come to mind. I really don't see why everyone is in such an uproar about how EDMNexus is run yet continue to go there. Go somewhere where the staff and rules don't make you feel like this.

But then again nobody wants to hear this shit from an Admin on said site.

I love you Coley and I hope the fact that I support and am part of the way the board is run doesn't make you think less of me. <3

It doesnt make me think less of anyone that runs that site. I love you no matter what, and thats for truth.

But what is the purpose of one day of chaos?

You cant inform EVERYONE on said sites because they are sites that dont get that much traffic. It would be like me calling someone out where they are not present.

Whether anyone likes it or not, edmnex.us is the site for our scene, and why we have to sugar coat everything about our scene is beyond me.

In the past rule lifts only happened when Xian got fed up and did it as a reactionary thing. It usually came at a time where there was a lot of fighting and drama which would get moderated which would in turn cause a bunch of shit talking about the moderation, which is what would set it off ( ... )

The point of the "rule lift" is to remind people that some people on the planet need to have control of SOMETHING. It makes people feel important. Even though I have no idea why... that message board is the biggest waste of time on the planet, & I hate myself for even replying about it in your LJ right now. ; )

I think the point was to clear the air of all the drama and rumors and shady stuff that is going on. I think they did it because it doesn't get discussed under their normal rules. Everything gets moderated and edited to shit and people think the scene is a shiny happy place because they never hear otherwise. I think it was somewhat constructive because it enlightened a lot of people to the shit that is really going on. The thing that really needs to be done is to get some truly useful rules and some moderators that have two braincells to rub together. If they would allow but moderate the drama and crap talking, it would clear itself up and at the very least, people will be the wiser. Shady promoters won't find success, venue people will be avoided, wack DJs who play other people's records won't get any further than people think they should, etc. Instead of letting this stuff build up and then lifting up the lid periodically, why not allow a constant vent of pressure? It will take more work than simply deleting every post under ( ... )
