Walking into the Panic Room Dean asked “You Okay, Sammy?”

“Yes”

“So, you ready to get out of here.”

“Yes”

“That’s good.  I found us a hunt. It’s a couple days drive, that okay with you.”

Is this set in season six or the last time Sam was confined? Basically saying Sam as a "yes man" is "back to normal?" Or maybe that's Sam's pov, that so long as he's saying "yes," everything is cool/fine/the normal, and he has to force himself into that mold.

Interesting and raises lots of questions/lots of room for interpretation.

It was a drabble (100 words) and intended as season 6 what if after AItS.

The intent was Sam basically having realized he has little to no control and the path of least resistance is to allow Dean to lead and simply agree because everytime he tries something his own way it fails, saving Dean from the deal, stopping Lillith/the Apocalypse, and now having his soul returned.

Honestly the only major thing I see Sam having managed was jumping into the cage and he only did that with Dean's cooperation and help.

I think Sam came up with the plan, a good one. All their prior plans had failed. And this plan required him to sacrifice himself for the world. To me, that's doing something. A lot of it was internal, but he was the one that had to hoodwink Satan etc... I see the brothers as always needing an assist from each other, I guess I like that aspect of their relationship.

I can see Sam going 'whatever I think or decide is wrong anyway' though, lol.

I actually enjoy that they are so dependent on each other.

I love Sam and feel he has made most choices with 'good intentions' but there has been that awful thing called 'Winchester luck' involved which usually allows for a narrow escape after things go wrong.

I can see both guys regretting many of the choices they've made and wondering why they bother continuing the fight other than not fighting would get more people hurt.
