Pre-emptively cut for length... I dunno if I'll be rambling or not.
Well, been away from the intarwebz for a while, partially due to
marlwolf's WoW habit, partially due to me being tired after work and not bothering to play about online. This is probably why many people have now got me responding to old posts...
Work continues apace, I'm massively busy and short-staffed and suspect I'm the only one filling in my time sheet correctly. Certainly, I'm the first one in and the last one out pretty much every day. I need to speak to my boss about exactly how much flexi I'm allowed to take each month, and how much I'm allowed to carry over, etc., but I suspect I'll be several days in credit by Christmas. My main concern is that I'm not going to be able to take the time I'm effectively owed due to staffing levels and how damn busy we are. I know it's owed to me, and I should just take it, but I've developed a sickening conscience and some vague morals over the last few years and they won't let me.
I hate my conscience and morals. They stop me having fun.
In a continuation of the whole "not wanting to take time off from work thing because it's harsh on my colleagues" I am currently ill. Not as ill as I was on Monday or Tuesday, but still pretty ill. I've basically lost my voice (I couldn't speak at all for the first few hours of Sunday and Monday), have a chesty cough, a head ache, and generally feel like hammered shit. I don't think it's pig aids, probably just my usual seasonal cold and my spacked throat, but it is deeply annoying nevertheless.
That said, I'm off on Friday, so there's a morning in bed right there.
SoS was weekend just gone, and a great deal of fun indeed. I played two dungeons with two very different characters, and absolutely loved them both. On
renniek's dungeon, I played my filthy alchemist slaver alongside my brother and my slaves... plus several disgusted Company members. Team Incredibly Jovial Evil is a new one for me (I have tried many flavours of evil but never before have I been so unapologetically cheerful about it) and I had a lot of fun with it.
Then went on
doctor_kaos's dungeon as James Randall, Private Eye and Forensic Necromancer. Yup, I do have an undead partner called Hopkirk. Why do you ask?
Again, lots of fun. Didn't get to complete the dungeon but that was entirely due to the three thinky characters watching everything fall apart, our only effective healer blow her essential healing powers exploding innocent mad people, and serious unhelpfulness from the people we were trying to help. Fuck this noise, thinks we, I'm off. A great deal of fun to play though, and two pristine, untouched battle boards! Fear my staying the hell out of combat skillz!
Suspect that'll change next event when I enthugginate some fools as my Orc...
Not really a great deal. To be honest, aiming to have a quiet weekend recuperating. It's payday on Friday and I'm off, so planning to do some Christmas shopping online and watch Geoff's Saw Quadrilogy so I can give it back (I've had it for frickin months...). Saturday think me and Lou are hoping to hit town to do some Christmas shopping, and then maybe go for a meal together. Not had a meal together at a proper restaurant since Edinburgh in May, and since I was horribly ill for most of that I couldn't really appreciate it as much as I wish I could have done. Of course, I'm horribly ill now, but I'm hoping I'll be a tad better by Saturday :D
I need a new computer, but before that I need a keyboard where the space bar consistently works. Getting annoyed with it now...
As Lou has mentioned, Token has shed again, and, more importantly, seems to be a lot more his old self. He's admittedly spending nearly all his time hiding under his wet trough on top of the heater, but I can't really blame him for that.... he aint built for winter like me. His scales are sooooo soft and shiny :D He's also getting pretty big, and we need to look at getting him a bigger house for the New Year. Hurray for Snake!
Think that's probably everything. I dunno.
It'll do for now, anyway.
