I know I've seen Gwendy's work but right now I'm not sure what ones they are ... and Portkey's art gallery seems to be down! THE HP FANDOM IS DYING I TELL YOU. :-(
She did the art for ... she did the header for Portkey... no, I guess not. She did the heading for this page. Well, the art for it anyway.
Now I wouldn't say the fandom is dying...! Just... alright, yeah, it is dying a little. But that's good! Fewer jerkholes, right? Just the nerds left. All of the people who were just on the bandwagon are gone. I tell you something, it's lowered my blood pressure a lot about the fandom. I can finally enjoy it now that it's not a constant warzone. I mean really, really enjoy it. It's astounding, Brad, and I'm glad that you're sticking around to talk about this stuff.
I do really miss the cruelty of Anti-HG, though, I will admit. We had fun.
The fandom death is hurting; I feel you on it. Gaia's HP-Subforum is not what it used to be at all. Forget about the fan art, too. I've been trying, though. Eventually, I'll re-color this old hhr piece I did in 2005. It's easy to draw when you're doing it for someone, for those with hearts that are true.
(I tried to post this comment/reply right at the start of Livejournal's denial-of-service attack problems. Looks like I can access LJ again, so here we go ...)
Just tidying up some old entries and saw this one awaiting a reply. Almost a year late. (I still have to finish that '30 days' - ha! - meme too one day.)
That's a lovely drawing! I'm glad I kept your message in my IN box to read.
Love all of these images. I rather enjoy mudblood428's HHr work. He has such a distinct style, it's hard not to admire it. I have several of his creations in my harddrive, there for me to look at whenever I feel like it.
I like runeharmonic too. There's one image she made of the trio that I really love, but you're right about the eyes. The lack of pupils will tend to put a mannequin-esque feel to the images.
mudblood428 - and H/Hr? Are you thinking of someone else? She's firmly in the canon-abiding OBHWF camp ... as far as I know she only ever did one H/Hr drawing.
And as luck would have it harpsi_fizz in the comment above supplied a link to it - it's here. A collaboration between mudblood428 and midnight_ljc, wherein is written the following note:
Only one person on earth could make Mudblood draw Harry/Hermione.
Dig that 'bushy' hair!!
Ah! 5 minutes later ... I know of whom you are thinking! Muddgutts, principally a H/Hr artist I think ... one gallery is here (Portkey's art gallery seems to be down at the moment :-().
Yes, I like his work, he draws a nicely affectionate and cosy Harry and Hermione. :-)
The lack of pupils will tend to put a mannequin-esque feel to the images.
See, it's stuff like this that warms a cold heart. If only ever exposed to things like this- canon fans and non canon fans being respectful and loving to one another, sharing only the mildest of "jabs" ("Only you could make me draw this, haha!") I'd be fully ready to fall into Potterdom.
Buuuut we have a few people whose names will not be invoke in this loving entry out there name calling and generally ruining the fandom.
OH! WAIT! Brad, I have one for you! Napalmnacey! She's actually the reason why I consider myself an HHR Shipper Ally.
In 2004, while looking around the internet for a reference picture for Hermione, "Upon a Hyppogriff" came up as a fan-made pin.
At first I was surprised- never even thought of the idea of Hermione and Harry together. The I shocked myself by actually smiling at it and thinking "that's really, really cute...!" . From there, I kept searching for more pictures and eventually, I became an unofficial H/Hr fan, always stating that "I'm a slasher first and foremost, but H/Hr won me over with the art".
Just catching up with some LJ responses ... YES I KNOW you posted your comment half a year ago, what's your point?
:-)

It's not all sweetness and light, though. You noted the 'cowardly stalker' who made a few comments here ... remnants of a slight furore that erupted back when mudblood428 first published her 'Equals' piece. A couple of H/G people thought I was super evil for expressing my thoughts on the drawing much as I have here. It looks like one of them is still following me around and harbouring resentment.
So yeah, some 'cold hearts' still around. :-(
Napalmnacey - yeah, some great drawings there, I love her clear and expressive style. You're right, she's an iconic H/Hr artist and some of her drawings take me right back to my own personal halcyon days of the fandom.
A Flower for Hermione reminds me of you a lot.Yeah? It's a lovely drawing, I do so enjoy the 'young love' aspect of H/Hr. So many H/Hr stories

It is an excellent drawing that incites strong HP fandom emotions (as well as inspiring comments on fandom beliefs). Surely high praise for any work of art?
Re: oh and by the way....madderbradFebruary 28 2011, 10:35:16 UTC
I was talking about Ginny Weasley - you remember who she is, right? - and her fangirl crush on her hero, Harry Potter. We're supposed to believe that Ginny's getting over her crush made her the 'equal' of the Boy Who Almost Died in every book. Uhm, no.
And besides, in HBP we discover that Ginny was only acting, the crush never left, she 'never gave up' on her target. Equals, no, twice.
I'd never seen that Trio series before; an interesting experiment to try.

watson said she had a crush on Felton, not Radcliffe
it's the media who assumed she had a crush on radcliffe because the media are so obsessed with shipping as you are
