The Democrats actually are trying to suggest that they've made 4.5 million new jobs. ... Do they think we're that stupid that the comment won't seem hollow? They're pretty much going gross, not net... and frankly taking credit for things they shouldn't be taking credit for. From what I understand they're counting from the lowest point of 2009 toward the year's end. So they're choosing their starting point. They are then looking at the change since then (which is more net than I thought, but they're only taking part of the timeline). And a lot of these jobs occur naturally over time. New employers create new jobs. They don't automatically get credit for those... and they seem to be counting every single one.
