I admit that I've been getting lax about logging into LiveJournal, but it's especially disheartening when I log in and it insists there are zero friend entries to read. How is that possible? If they've implemented a policy of deleting them after a certain period of time, that seems really stupid. People who log in infrequently will stop logging in ( Read more... )

I think LJ has always kept friends feeds to something like the last 60 or 90 days.

I agree it's crappy how the feed can't go all the way back anymore (at least last I checked). I'm sure they somehow found a way to cut costs by having only some stuff on a temporary server that everyone can access!

That's really weird. Just checked my feed and the oldest post it will show me is only May 17, 2016. Brief internet search didn't turn up anything so I posted a request to LJ support. TBD if that kicks up anything.

Apparently friends page only shows the past two weeks. I'm not sure when that changed. Weird.

Support's response:
"Thank you for your inquiry. Your Friends page will only display entries that have been posted by your friends within the past two weeks.

You can view your friends' older entries by visiting their journals directly. More information on the Friends page in general can be found here [http://www.livejournal.com/support/faq/219.html]."
