Aaaaawwwwwweeeesssome! That was the most original and unique Remus/Sirius fic I have read in a VERY long time. Thanks for injecting some creativity back into this fandom! And, of course, love the ending. And the Donne.

Hurrah!! I'm so glad you liked it! Yeah, I love the image of Remus as a distracted schoolboy, scribbling ideas and scraps of things he's read into his notebook. I wonder why Hogwarts doesn't teach anything like English or Philosophy. It's such a skills-based curriculum.

I think you answered your own question there - it's more like a vocational school than like the Eton-esque public schools it seems to mimic in everything else (Houses, Great Hall, prefects). Everything is geared both towards preparing you for a specific career (such as Auror or Healer), but also towards preparing you to BE a fully-fledged wizard. It's interesting that wizardry is both a race and a professional community - yes, wizards are born that way, but you don't get to use magic in everyday life until you've been properly trained, and certain classes, like Muggle Studies, seem more about teaching students how to live in the wizarding world rather than a particular profession ( ... )
