There's a movie out on DVD right now that went to theatres called "The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas". I haven't seen it yet, but it's on my netflix, supposed to be very good. Basically it's the story of a boy (son of a Nazi captain) who goes into the woods behind his house and plays with a boy who is behind the fences in a Nazi Concentration Camp and their friendship. He doesn't understand why his new friend can't come out and play etc etc. Your post made me think of this. Just thought you'd be interested.
Yes, I've seen many WWII films, I love the whole genre, war/military/pow etc. The life-stories of those who survived always makes me stop and watch on TV. Life is beautiful I think we own. There's another movie I saw in theatres called "The Grey Zone" in the early 2000s. We own it as well. It's about the only attempted armed revolt/uprising at Auschwitz in which a group of captives attempt escape by smuggling guns into the camp and make home-made bombs to blow up the gas chambers/crematoriums. It's at least partially successful, in that they do blow up the crematoriums, making them unusable, which saves thousands of captives. It's based on true events, good movie

I totally forgot too! I've been so obsessed about my work and school work that I totally forgot!

I personally enjoyed Uprising. It was on ABC a loooong time ago. Had Leelee Sobinski (sp?) and David Schwhimmer (again, sp. too tired to look it up) in it. It was absolutely wonderful. The Counterfeiters too. Saw that with my parents, brilliant and true. Not your typical sort of WWII film.
there was another one I saw recently, but hell if I remember.
Even though it's not a funny thing to forget, it's how I feel. So, feel free to come through the interwebs and slap me for the icon. >.
