Congrats on the job!! *hugs you*

Yeah, I don't entirely understand the whole remake thing. The only thing I can figure is that either A)The average American wouldn't be able to understand the accents or B)Certain slang would need to be changed.

It hard for me to say because, for instance, I love both versions of the Office now. They each have their own unique charm to them. But on the other hand, look at how successful Shaun of the Dead was. Obviously enough Americans can understand "British-ness" with no problems.

To think the average American would not understand seems a bit ridiculus. Not slamming you, but if that's what their reasoning is. Unless, I'm thinking too highly of my fellow Americans... But I've watched Fawlty Towers and Monty Python and haven't had any trouble. Yeah, sometime the British accent is tricky, but not to the point I can't figure out what's going on.

No offense taken. I think it depends on the actors.. I've found some to be a little difficult and others I understand no problem. It's usually just a matter of paying a little more attention and getting "in tune" with it, so to speak. But television producers seem to like to cater to the lowest common denominator sometimes.. so that's why I thought it might be that. Who knows.

I know what you mean about the actors. Henry Ian Cusick, while Scottish already, puts on a much thicker accent for his character Desmond. And believe me, there have been times when I've said, "Erm, what did he say?" LOL But, yeah, you're right about them gearing shows to the dumb. Amazing a show like LOST is even still around!

By the way, I see you graduated from UNO. My hubby graduated from there in the mid 90's. :D In fact, I have tons of family in the New Orleans area.

Ok, there is an added futility to the remake of LOM, because the two leads are being played by IRISH actors. Geeze! Why they couldn’t get Johnny Depp to play Gene Like Philip Glenister wanted I’ll never know (There is an obvious answer, but I can dream can’t I?).

Dear lord that episode was good. Dear lord, Gene needed to be jumped and given a "Special seeing to". The only way the episode could have been better is if they’d kept in the “Gene sings a lullaby” Scene that apparently was in the script. (Ellie ovaries explode again in 3… 2… 1…).

And now begins the long wait until the next episode… damn it I am not going to be staring at the clock for a year, but it sooo sounds like the easiest option.

BTW: Thanks for the spiffy Icon.

How good would Johnny Depp be?!?! Lol, though nowhere near as good as Philip Glenister who was born to play Gene Hunt. Apparently he's gonna be in a show on ITV later in the year where he is a vampire hunter! Lol.

OMG!!!! GENE SHOULD BE SINGING A FUCKING LULLABY TO ME EVERY GOD DAMN NIGHT!!!! *ovaries do indeed explode*

God, how are we supposed to wait?!?! The sooner this year is finished with the betterer :P

No worries glad you like it!!

Yeah, he's playing a man who "Watches" a "Vampire Hunter" and his name is Rupert... not a knock off of Buffy at all. That being said, i am still there.

Only problem with "The Depp" as "The Hunt" is, who in the hell would you get to play Sam? 'Cause with Gene skulking around in the background no way is Annie going to pay him any attention!

Gene Lullabys should be the national health service's cure for Stress, exaustion and any Sexual problems a woman can encounter.

It should go fast... i't should... but it won't. I think this calls for plan B. Plan B involves me and like minded people dressing up and acting out our own episodes like they were our real lives. Want to join me back in the '80's? (Seeing as we missed it the first time round?)

No? Oh well, I'll be sitting in my Quatro (Ok, mum's ford Galaxy) Pouting. if you choose to join me, you know where i am.

Lots of love for Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes.

Why should you watch Ashes to Ashes? Otherwise Gene Hunt will come round your house and stamp on your toys.
