Also, not really related, but some months ago, Chinese/maybe Japanese fandom too had a sort of wanky explosion over a MAD made with Chrysanthemum Flowerbed by Jay Chou because it's a famous Chinese song, the kanji for Kiku = chrysanthemum, and its lyrics that are angsty in a way that crazy shippers love to eat up lol FOR EXAMPLE:
