I got my Yuletide Long Winter story! And it's *great*. It's got frozen foot-thawing, a warm night in a cold barn, Cap's grin, Almanzo's homely sayings and I'm thrilled with it. I don't remember Stevie/Xabi in the book much, but S/D was the greatest. On Man U, I guess boys are just totally odd and territorial when it comes to football. And his pill popping during Chelseagate #2 was heartbreaking and oh, Stevie, only you would do that.

Mope on, mope on and you'll never mope alone, dear boy. I think I was just surprised at the excessive hatred he really felt for the Mancs. Maybe I'm just too middle class, female and unfootballish to really understand but his reaction really bordered on a kind of blind, pathological horror of all things Mancunian which, if it was directed towards any other social group would be kinda worrying. Anyway, he seems to have improved a bit. He is, of course, a Sponsor of the Arts these days.
