Oh My God, You Freak Me Out Crystal!bartskiOctober 8 2003, 10:52:21 UTC
Crystal! I've got the Requiem for a Dream CD in my CD player right now! I never buy CDs, cuz my tastes change like the singles on the radio do, every few months. When I saw R for A D however, I just fell in love with the music and said to myself, I HAVE to go buy that soundtrack. It took me forever to track down a copy of it though; like three different stores. To top things off, I listen to that CD as inspiration while I write.:0) I guess great minds think alike eh? Which is your fav(s) tracks? Mine has got to be 01, 12, 13, and 30.:0)

OH MY GOSH!!! i agree totally. well #1 is my ultimate fav - but i like #'s 2,4,12,21, and 32 the best. the WHOLE thing is amazing. i could do anything while listening to it. i could start crying if i just sat for long enough and listened. #1 is great to drive to. oh man. it is my new #1 all time fav cd. i defiantly listen to it when im writing from now on! it works like a charm. and yes i agree - "great minds think alike" on track one when the Kronos Quartet comes in (its at exactly 1 min and 50 secs into the song)i immediatley drop to the floor. its that good. its beyond powerful and the music just makes you forget everything. okay im getting carried away.
basically - i just fucking love the movie and the soundtrack kicks ass! but you already knew that we are gonna have to sit down and watch this movie together soon and you can give me your view being that you are looking to direct and you are a film major. oh im excited now!!

Yo! 12 and 21 go like hand in hand. I still rememebr those sequences in my mind. 12 while Harry and his friend are wheelin and dealin, and 21 in the supermarket. Both were great for their own reasons. 4 is cool too, with a rave-ish vibe to it.:0)
One of the teachers at my school actually worked on that movie. Stephen Barden, he was the sound mix supervisor; he's an audio teacher at the college. I don't take his class though - no interest in audio for me. Yup, the world is a small place.
Yeah, I'd totally love to sit down and go through Requiem for a Dream with you. Although are you sure you'd want to do that though? I could go on for hours!:0)
