Election Stuff

Well that was an interesting election. Don't know if it was the full moon or not but I was experiencing some intense emotions as I was walking to the Northcote Town Hall, so strong i was crying, and then again while standing in the queue and again while filling in my bits of paper. Cool. Thank you. That's interesting.

I'm assuming that it's higher than usual because people are making a protest vote not because people are making mistakes. :-)

The breakdown of the Senate count for Victoria is interesting too. Right up till the last redistribution of preferences, The Greens were in front for the last seat. Fundies First pushed the Libs over the line, with less than 1% of a quota (34,209 votes) between them.

Now if we could just re-educate some of those informals, and round up some of those who won't vote because they don't want to be part of "the system, man", we should get a Greenie up next time.

yeah i was blown away by how much peole gave a fuck this time round too. i've half written that many journal entries about it but can never quite put it in words. i was definitely ecstatic that howard is gone.

I've never liked him, but my feelings turned to despising the man after the children overboard incident. I have such an overwhelming sense relief now that he is gone. :-)
