Loveless on Mangafox Personality: An extremely bubbly, friendly, warm-hearted person, Yuiko is much more good-hearted and amiable than most other 12 and 13 year olds. She is very talkative, and tries to fill awkward silences with conversation as much as she can, especially when she's speaking to someone she's interested in. She's willing to talk to anyone, regardless of age, appearance, or even if they don't have their 'ears'. She doesn't seem to be suspicious or uncomfortable around anyone at all, save for the occassional streak of jealousy she might feel against other girls that Ritsuka befriends; for example, Osamu, in an extra chapter in volume four. She was at first very apprehensive about talking to her, considering her only a rival for Ritsuka's attention, but after a while, Yuiko's sweet disposition and generally friendly approach led the two girls to befriend each other, since they have a passion in common (Ritsuka). In general, she trusts pretty much anyone she talks to, and it never once crosses her mind to wonder if she's being manipulated or lied to. Because of this, she tends to get taken advantage of a lot by her friends, who set her up to do embarrassing things to save their own face. Even after they shun her or act mean to her, she still insists that they are her friends, and she never gives up on them. Yuiko is a very good natured girl, and she's impressively perceptive both visually and emotionally. She's able to tell when someone isn't feeling well, regardless of how well they're faking it. Her vision is also extremely impressive, as proven in a side story revolving around Rock Paper Scissors, where she could tell by the subtle twitch of her opponents' hands whether or not they would show rock, or show paper or scissors.
However, it's not very hard to hurt Yuiko's feelings. She takes a lot of things to heart, and sometimes her school friends are simply cruel to her, by making fun of her or throwing away her things. And Yuiko's response is to cry loudly. She doesn't seem to feel embarrassed by making such a fuss, which is uncommon for most people who live in Japan, even at her age. And it's not just other people that put Yuiko down, either. For the most part, Yuiko doesn't think very highly of herself, either. She often feels as if she can't do things, and gives up early. It takes someone as encouraging as Ritsuka to convince her that she's able to do anything she wants, if she sets her mind to it.
Ritsuka has an enormous impact on Yuiko as a whole. She very openly states that she's in love with him, to both her teacher and Soubi, despite Ritsuka claiming the relationship to be entirely platonic. Ever since she met Ritsuka, Yuiko was very intent on getting to know Ritsuka, and being good enough to be his friend. Where other people would tell her that she was dumb, she couldn't do it, or anything along those lines, Ritsuka would tell her exactly the opposite. He'd rile her up, and talk to her confidently. Ritsuka's confidence fuels Yuiko's ambition, and she flourishes under Ritsuka's praise and support. He tells her time and time again that she isn't stupid, and isn't clumsy. And she takes every word of his to heart, eagerly doing her absolute best to make Ritsuka smile. Because of Ritsuka's influence, Yuiko has gotten better at reading, writing, gym class, and has learned better Japanese, finally referring to herself as "I" or "me" rather than "Yuiko".
She's still a very young girl, though, and a lot of times she still acts like one, despite how oddly mature Ritsuka can be.
Powers & Abilities: She has the strange ears and tail, but besides basic movement they have no biological function nor do they enhance her senses, as they exist to later detach.

Third-Person Sample: It was all very confusing. Not just waking up in some strange town, with a strange new outfit and a strange bag. She might be able to handle that! It was weird. Really weird. But the worst part of all was when Yuiko realized that she wasn't home. She wasn't anywhere near home! She stood in front of the sign that read "Solaceon Town", and felt the tears well up in her eyes. That wasn't anywhere she'd been before. Her mama told her not to leave with strangers, told her that they would take her somewhere where she wouldn't see her family again. That's about when it hit her - she might never see anyone again. She wouldn't see her mama, or Shinonome-sensei... she wouldn't see Yayoi, or Soubi, or her school friends. ...She wouldn't see Ritsuka again.
It was scary. It was confusing. It was frustrating. And all Yuiko could do was cry, loudly, at the top of her lungs. Did she get herself lost, because she's so dumb? She didn't want to be here! She wanted to go home! After a good, long cry, she rubbed her face and wandered towards the center of town.
Once in the heart of the town, someone stopped her and led her towards the Pokemon Center. Having calmed to a quiet sob, she meekly nodded and followed, confused at what this building was. Slowly, carefully, the stranger introduced her to where she currently was, explaining the pokemon world to her. Of course, learning that she was in a different world simply caused her to cry again. Through several efforts made to calm her down again, Yuiko noticed that this stranger was wearing a uniform, and recalled that her mother said to be respectful and listen to law enforcement whenever she could, and did her best to stay quiet and listen to her explanation.

U-um, Yuiko isn't... I mean, I dunno what this place is... b-but! It's kind of like that video game that Yayoi-san plays... I think it is. I even have a cute pokemon... I'm calling her "Strawberry"! I love strawberries, they're so cute and really yummy! Strawberry is really cute, too, I like her! She's really fun!
[There's a small pause, and Yuiko's tone sombers a bit from the friendly excitement from before.]
Does... anyone know how to go home? I wanna go home to mom. They said we can't go home, but I gotta go home and go back to school. I miss my friends... I miss Ritsuka-kun.
((There are also plenty of posts from her journey in Route 29 that are already pokemon setting, which could display her behavior and personality better than a brief sample))
