I'm getting a little nervous that Obama might not win the election. Polls place him up there pretty good (that is a technical term ;) but I read that John Kerry also showed well in polls right before the election

I don't think people changed their minds so much as people (particularly in Ohio) had real troubles voting - long lines, faulty equipment, challenges to their voter registration. That these problems affected poor (and thus Democratic leaning) areas isn't entirely accidental. I still believe that if everybody who woke up that morning intending to vote was able to vote (and have it counted), we wouldn't be in this miess. (Of course I thought that in 2000, too.)
