Pictures from Bluefield, VA

Keeping in mind I took these with my phone while driving, so.... yeah. Not the clearest. But clear enough to give you an idea. And we stopped for some today before driving to Baltimore.

Pictures under the cut:

The gold-topped dome and spire is the state capitol in Charleston, West Virginia, which I drove through on the way to Bluefield. If Ty and Zane fly to WV, they'd fly into Charleston and then drive about 100 miles south to Bluefield, right down I-77.

In the winter, WV is really kind of bland and dead-looking, but the mountains are gorgeous anyway. Here, peeking through the tree, you can see snow.

Mountains in the distance.

Mountainside of trees in the setting sunlight.

Very blurry Bluefield exit sign.

Looking up into the mountains from in Bluefield proper.

Welcome to Bluefield!

This is First Presbyterian Church of Bluefield, where the Gradys attend. Yes, this is from a future book, but of course, we needed pictures.

It was cold and gloomy and overcast, and the clouds touched the mountains, like in this picture. This is what WV looked like toward the end of Sticks & Stones when the weather turned.

And just because... from dinner tonight:
