I dislike my OB today. I need some advice.

I went to the doctor expecting to at least be having the baby on Friday and he either forgot what he had told me or just changed his mind but whatever it was, he's now decided that next week would be better to get closer to 39 weeks now.  GRR.  I'm rather frustrated

well, to me it sounds like he was hoping you would go into labor on your own and not have to fufill his part of the bargin, and since you didnt, he's putting it off "another week"

i really dont think there is anything you can say to change his mind and have him do it this week, but instead since everything that has been postponed has already been re-planned, then tell him that you flat out refuse to be induced until you are 40 weeks, and if the baby decides to comes before then, great!
That way you get to enjoy the upcoming activities without worrying about rescheduling the party yet again, and not have the constant loom of the impending induction on your mind :)

I'm alright to kep going but if another infection comes up that could have been prevented I'll be very unhappy since this affects the baby as well.

I'm more made that he brought it up and then decided not to do it and I have arrangments made for Keaton and Cory got off work and we postponed the party.

I hate having to wait till Friday to know for sure. But I mean now we're having the party and if I do happen to have the baby I might miss it. But in this situation it's super crazy and I just wish he wouldn't have he brought it up to me. It just will really piss me off if the infection comes back again.
