little_serenity at fst requested a "S/He's just not into you" FST, so here it is, and hopefully it doesn't disappoint :) (Most of my comments will use 'he,' because, well, I'm female and straight, and it's easier and I'm lazy, but it could be 'her' too. Just make a mental substitution.)

The first step is, you think about him all the time. You check your phone to see if he texted you, you get on Facebook and immediately check your list of online friends for his name, and he might just guest-star in a few dreams. But you don't realize what's going on yet. Right now, he's just a friend.

It's really difficult to admit it to yourself though, because you've been through this before and you know it probably won't end well. But deep down, you know you've fallen hard.

No matter how much you're dying to tell him, though, you do your best to hide your feelings, whether successfully or not.

There's just some reason why you can't have him. Maybe he has a girlfriend, maybe your best friend wants him too. But you still WANT him, no matter what common sense says.

Your friends are getting worried now, because they know you're probably just going to get hurt. You ignore them, though, because you can't stand feeling like you're in limbo.

So you keep talking to him, and slowly you get into deeper conversation. Maybe you share tender moments. Maybe you comfort him after a break-up, or listen to his problems. And maybe, through all that, you show him your feelings for him, and then you tell him.

But I'd rather say goodbye
And that's it. Rejection. You want to yell, scream, cry at him. But instead, you just say "okay" and walk away like it doesn't matter, because all you can do is salvage your pride.

After that, you just think about the 'might-have-been's. But you know there's no chance now.
