Seven steps closer to coconut candles and opium incense. I remember the smell, the taste, and those never ending daydreams of far off places, travel and people. Matt~ I thoroughly enjoyed your entry. The words in themselves were amazing but it's the emotion and implication behind each word that sucked me in. I admire your point of view. Life is full of pain and joy, love and war, happiness and heartache. When we can be content no matter the situation or circumstance, life truly becomes worth living. It's all beautiful...like the plastic bag dancing in the wind.

A different world that exists only in your mind, eh? I think you should congratulate those people for accidentally making an astute observation!

Think about it... your only interface to the world out there is through your five senses. Everything you experience is subject to your interpretation of that data. So the world is really just one big mental construct anyway. The next time someone accuses you of living in a dream world, you can cock an eyebrow and say, "Well, DUHHHHHH!" secure in the knowledge that Kant, Buddha, Hermes Trismegistus, and an army of modern physicists are all on your side.

By the way, you write beautifully! I think you should do it more often. Don't think. Just write.
