So, I got a phone call back from VNA about an interview!! I still have to call them back to schedule when, since the woman called when I was in class and left a message, but it'll be sometime next week. Here's my dilemma: what do I wear?! I've never really been on a non-retail interview, so I don't know what to do! Do I have to go out and buy ( Read more... )

Nah I wouldn't go out and buy a suit, a nice pair of slacks and a nice top or sweater will be just fine. Usually employers don't weigh their decisions based on what people are wearing, unless it's like street clothes, but base it more on your interview so good luck! I'm sure you'll get it :)

Omg I hate retail too! I worked at a jewelry store and it was the worst! My boss used to do the same thing! Schedule me all kinds of strange hours and when I went to tell her she fucked up, she'd get all mad and be like "you never asked for that time off" ugh! I'm so glad I don't have to put up with that crap anymore!

I'm all set then! Thanks for the advice. I really hope I get this internship so I can say goodbye to retail for good!

I own several suits and I've only worn a suit to one interview. I didn't get that job. (Although I'm sure it has nothing to do with the suit.)

The jobs I have gotten, I wore slacks and a nice shirt to the interviews.

Hence my dilemma. I want, nay, NEED a job. But I'd sooner chew on my dog than work retail again. But that seems to be the only kind of work that is both abundant AND I can be flexible with...what with class being during the day and all. *sigh* Why couldn't we just be drug lords?

Oh well, good luck on the interview =)

Joanne's really getting on my last nerve. I mean, how stupid can you be to just ignore someone's class schedule and have them open while they're supposed to be in class? She's not the sharpest tool in the crayon box. :-P
We could be drug lords. Your dad has gotta know someone from Columbia at the UN, right?! :)
