How does putting the word "period" after a statement make it true?

I see prolifers and anti-feminists doing this a lot and I really wonder about it. What makes them think that saying the word "PERIOD" after emotionally spouting their opinion over something is going to magically turn it from opinion to fact? Shouting the word "PERIOD" doesn't turn an unwanted pregnancy into a wanted one or make abortion any less ( Read more... )

I seriously hate it when people say "PERIOD!" At me, probably cause my step-mom, mom and dad used it when they were mad at me or my sister... A lot...

Whether its used with Authority or Protest or whatever; you dont have to spell everything out COMMA isn't that just stupid QUESTION MARK

You know...it has never bothered me, probably because I tune it out when people do that to me. I just think that they must've failed a lot of persuasive essays and speeches by using period as a way to make something as fact when they didn't present a credible source to back them up...and that's the case with most lifers I've notice. Once you bombard them with a shitload of sources from credible sources (as you've seen me done plenty of times whenever I debate abortion), they don't use "period" with me after that :)
