I've always wondered. If I did snap the stays off a woman's bodice with a sword, would that be hot, or would she just get irritable and worry about the bill from the laundromat/repair shop?

Yeah, that would irritate me no end! I'd be all, "Hey! That bodice cost money, you know, and plus you could have slipped and cut me on the heaving bosom, Mr. Swordyman!"
