Title: Worry

Genera: Bleach

Paring: Renji/Ichigo

Disclaimer: Oh yea, I own them, just like I own the Taj Mahal. Note the sarcasm there.

Summary: It wasn't Rukia Ichigo was worried about as they parted ways. It was the red head at her side.

"Are you nuts?" Ichigo hissed, hands clenched into fists at his sides. "We're going up against Espada, Rukia. Fucking Espada and you want to go separate ways?" He just couldn't believe her suggestion. It was suicide to go their own way now when they stood a better chance as a group.

"I know but, it's the only way Ichigo." She said softly, a small smile playing at her lips. "And I know you don't like this idea because you're worried about me."

He bite his lip at that. She was wrong... well somewhat any way. Sure, he was worried about her, Chad and Uryu but, the one he was most worried about was the tall red head next to her. Just the thought of him getting hurt caused his heart to skip a beat. Ichigo just couldn't bare the thought that something could happen to Renji.

"And," Rukia continued softly, unaware of Ichigo's thoughts. "I told you not to worry about me."

"But Rukia..." Ichigo protested weakly. Hey, if she wanted to think she was the reason he didn't want to go in separate directions, let her because, there was no way he was going to tell her it was Renji of all people he was worried over.

"Don't worry." And large hand clasped his shoulder and soft, red hair tickled his face as Renji leaned in close to him. "She'll be fine." But, Ichigo could hear the hidden I'll be fine in Renji's words. If there was anything they were good at, it was picking up hidden messages in each other's words.

"Yea, okay." He agreed softly. He yearned to reach out and pull Renji to him and not let him go but, he couldn't. What they had needed to remain a secret. They couldn't afford for anyone to find out, especially right now during an up coming war. Squaring his shoulders, he turned to the others. "Let's go separate ways."
