Rescue

I saved a turtle this morning. Or at least prolonged its life a little bit. It was trying to cross the road near the entrance to our neighborhood. It looked like it might have been hit (attacked?) already as it was missing one hind leg. This impeded its process greatly. So I stopped the car, turned on my flashers, and moved it on across the road. A ( Read more... )

There is a lake behind my sister's house. When they built their home ten years ago they were one of the first houses on the lake, now it is surrounded. There are several dozen geese that live there and each spring it is always nice to see their babies and watch them grow.

The neighborhood association, fed up that these geese (who were there first!) are always pooping in their yard and driveways, put this light on the water that pretty much makes the geese psychotic and now they are all leaving . . .except for the ones with babies that can't leave right away.

I think it is mean and cruel and if I had a BB gun, I'd take that light out in a heartbeat!

Sorry, but your turtle made me think of the poor geese, I didn't mean to get off on a tangent! (long post for some geese!)

True, it is nasty stuff, but they shouldn't have built where there were geese if they didn't want them there.

Dang, I'm way too overemotional today about some geese!

Awww, good for you for helping the turtle !

In Florida i would have to save turtles on a weekly basis. many other people stopped for them too. Over development is truly a devastating situation for many animals.
