My girlfriend & I can also give thumbs-up to Graze, Ella's, Glass Nickel, Tubbs, Green Owl, & Umami.

We also make regular visits to Daisy Cafe & Cupcakery, Alchemy, and Great Dane.

We've had some great dinners at the Viet Haus, in the same little strip mall as the Walgreen's by E Wash & Milwaukee St, but the last time we passed by there, they were closed in the early evening - I hope they're still in business.

Lao Laan Xang is another one of our regular haunts, and if you hit up the Atwood Ave location, you're just a short hop from Chocolaterian for dessert.

Love all that you mentioned. Love the Gaelic user name, too. Atwood is amazing!

Wasabi! The most long-lived Japanese place, with consistently good sushi. Marika is my favorite server ( ... )

jeebus. ok. i'll try to minimise and avoid DT since everybody will have an opinion there:

North:
JJ's on the Swamp. Not for everybody, but they know how to cook a burger how you ask it be to be cooked.

East:
Dexter's. period.
Lazy Oaf (they don't advertise it, but their pizzas are amazing. i blame the oven)

West:
Ginza (veggie tempura will make your legs twitch)

South:
Alt-n-Bach's. again, they know how to cook a burger.

Middleton:
Bristled Boar. again, they listen to you when you say "medium rare"
Quaker Steak & Lube: all. good.

Monona:
sh*t, they closed.

oops. DT: Bandung. The "IndoMacnCheese" is my favourite, but i'm not a "wing person." ppl who like "wings" tell me that their wings are excellent. people who like asian/indonesian food tell me the rest is excellent. but imagine Ian's MacNCheese Pizza, but as an asian noodle dish, and you'll understand why i like this particular offering.
