As far as i'm aware, currently the whole reclaiming bank charges thing is in limbo pending full adjuication/report from the banks failed appeal process. That said, proven cases of continuing hardship will still qualify for getting charges back now.

First I've heard about being able to claim any interest though.

£49 isn't bad - depending on size of problem. I registered with BankSmart about a month before the whole court case thing started (2yrs ago) and am still waiting for it all to be cleared up - but they charge 10% of the total refund.

They'll get it sorted one day soon i hope.

I'm told a lot of people are getting out of court settlements already. Depending what the paperwork says I'll decide what to do - I can forget it if it's not worth the time, or I can chase it for quick settlement, or I can chase it longer term for a better outcome.

It looks like you can also go through the FOS if you don't get a pleasing offer.
