Go on, try it...sing "The Simple Joys of Maidenhood" and then tell me you aren't at least smiling just a little. Even better, play all the parts while you're alone in the house. Belt all the songs at the top of your lungs. Even the sad ones are fun.

My favorite song from that play is the one about If You Would Take Me To The Faire.

:D The only song I don't love is "What Do The Simple Folk Do?". But all the rest I adore.

Probably my favorite classic musical. I've enjoyed it ever since I saw the staged production HBO had on rotation back in the early 80s.

My mother went to the original Broadway production starring Richard Burton, Julie Andrews and Robert Goulet. I've known every song in the show since I was little.
