Another Post That I Do Not Imagine Will Be Read

Has anyone looked at Hillary's healthcare plan. For those of you who did not see "Sicko", this is what Michael Moore predicted. I think it is as bad as I can imagine it. See if I am wrong. Basically, it would require Americans to purchase coverage, "Like auto insurance ( Read more... )

Health savings accounts are bad. People should be going to see their doctor not thinking about anything but their copay. Doctors should be diagnosing and healing their patients not thinking about anything but the patients welfare.

Instead, Doctors are doing the tests the insurance companies allow, and patients are worrying if a routine doctors visit will push them over the debt edge.

The health care price is set by a combination of the premiums that the "malpractice" insurers charge doctors and hospitals; the cost of a doctor's education; new technologies that are emerging to help diagnose and cure sickness/wounds; pharmaceutical companies looking to cover their expenses/profit off of multiple years of drug research with one successful drug; and finally hospitals and health insurance companies seeking to make a profit off of disease and accidents ( ... )

I'm still torn between Obama and Edwards.

I'm not even sure Hillary's would get passed.

Interesting analysis and the article makes me more hopeful about the situation. I am, however, concerned that 1) most people do not have the time to research every possible health insurance option and will get screwed, 2) that collusion is almost inevitable even with the government plan and that rates will do what auto insurance rates did when they became mandated by law. I am still convinced that single-payer is the best way, but this could be a better thing than I thought. It requires more analysis.

Yah, I'm against health savings accounts too. Firstly they save companies a lot of money compared to other plans, which is the primary reason why companies choose them. I know, my company just had to choose a health plan, and I didn't choose that one. I find it likely that companies will come up with all sorts of reasons why it's better ( ... )
